first off: you posted this like an hour after I last checked tumblr, so sorry for not replying, but I haven’t been on since you posted.
second: I know how hard it can be, doing art but not getting any replies to it. most people around me know jack about it, so most of what I hear is “your drawings are kind of funny”. the ones who DO know anything about it generally say that I’ve long ways to go.
just know that if you’re not getting replies, most of the times you can’t blame the art. it’s a world in which networking, advertising yourself and good old-fashioned luck unfortunately play a large part. I know it’s not easy, but maybe you should try investing some time into that instead of just the art itself, if you want to be more successful with it. because lord knows you draw more than enough x_x
I think you should try to challenge yourself in one way or another with this. doing the same thing over and over can become boring, not just for others but for yourself. maybe you should try to draw something completely different, or in a completely different style, or force yourself to stick to traditional painting for a while, or god knows. doing something completely different often makes you surprise yourself. if it completely fails, you can have a laugh at it and throw it in the bin. if it’s a success, you’ll feel all the better for doing something new.
really, I need to do stuff like this too. I’m being forced to at the moment at school, and it’s helping me loads. maybe it can help you too? maybe we could do some stuff together? then we could actually catch up some more in person as well, because dayum, we should. been way too long.
